Yoko Ono, Add Color (Refugee Boat), 1960/2022
Add Color (Refugee Boat) (1960/2022) by Yoko Ono is a borderless place open to all beings. The white, still space and the empty boat within it transform into a giant canvas like the vast blue sea, filled with messages of peace and solidarity or confessions of anxiety and difficulties written by viewers over time. Viewers write to the minorities of the world or the viewers themselves who have experienced exclusion and alienation. The space that becomes freely completed is an interactive installation that holds the ever-changing moments of our lives, the traces people leave behind, and their diverse perspectives.
