Rubber duckies for children are in a queue on the floor of the exhibition room, as if they are guiding the way, a strange and uncommon sight for an exhibition. According to US Customs and Border Protection, hundreds of colorful objects such as these rubber ducks are found curiously scattered across the ‘Desert of Death’ – spanning
620km at its longest points – between the US-Mexico border. They are left by people who take the life-endangering week-long trek as a trail for others to follow later on. The ducks are a reminder of the thoughtful consideration for others, even at times of incredible danger.
