Bo-Young Jeong, Nine works including A Certain View, 2014

Oil on canvas,181x227cm. ⓒ Bo-Young Jeong

Bo-Young Jeong captures every moments of light, which transform from dawn to dusk, into eternal scenes. Objects surrounded by light are arranged in a quiet and still space. It may seem like a familiar landscape, but the artist’s perspective adds details and layers to the expression. The subtle reverberation of light in an empty space almost feels warm on our skin, yet it simultaneously evokes a bittersweet feeling. Bo-Young Jeong examines the abstract concept of time in her paintings, portraying everyday landscapes in ways that are unfamiliar yet lyrical.
