Metallic nebulae and Milky Ways shimmer in darkness across the vast wall. Up close, countless lines meticulously drawn with 10B pencil on newspaper layers become visible. The texture of newsprint, the tactile quality of graphite dust, and the friction of lead gliding across surfaces accumulate to materialize daily repeated time. Kanazawa preserves news destined for disposal beneath her pencil, merging personal memory and social record on the same surface. Viewers discover familiar brand logos, remembered headlines, or the artist's drawings, finding new meanings through individual interpretation within incomplete information. Newspapers from different dates connect, creating a unique temporality where past and present merge. Sumi Kanazawa, a third-generation Korean-Japanese artist who has explored questions of identity, continues reinterpreting everyday objects through meticulous handwork.
